DOC HOLLIDAY

Growing up in the 50's (that's 1950's), I, like many other boys, was fascinated with cowboys, gunfighters, and the old west in general. Unlike the other boys, the fascination never subdued.
Fortunately for me, my better half understands, as we travel across the country visiting the graves of my childhood heroes. John Henry Holliday established a reputation as a gambler and gunfighter after leaving his dental profession in his home town near Griffin, Ga. Having contracted tuberculous, his doctors prescribed a drier climate, so Doc moved west. He became close friends with the legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, after saving Wyatt's life in Dodge City, Kansas. Doc, Wyatt, along with Virigil and Morgan Earp, are probable best known for their involvement in "the gun fight at the O K corral", which occurred in Tombstons,Aaizona, on Oct.26th, 1881. This event is probable the most famous gunfight of the old west, leading to several movies of the same name.
Doc died of his illness on Nov.8th,1887, at the age of 36, within a sanitarium in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The Linwood Cemetery in Glenwood Springs has a grave and tombstone for Doc, however historians do not believe he was buried there, nor does the cemetary list him as being buried there. Being he died in November, the ground was frozen . It is suggested by the Doc Holliday Society, that Doc's friends buried him is the basement of one of their homes. Doc's father, Major Henry Holliday, C.S.A. , was a very wealthy man and civil war hero in their home in Valdosta Ga. Doc's cousin, Robert Alexander Holliday, was sent by the Major, to Glenwood and claimed his son's remains. It is believed that Doc and his father Major Henry Holliday, occupy the only two unmarked graves within the wealthy family's plot located in Griffin's Oak Hill Cemetary in Griffin Ga.
On July 21st, 2001, we ascended the steep one mile walk to the top of the Linwood Cemetary, along the only roadway, which was constructed for horse drawn hearsts and buckboards.
They just don't put enough air up in the rocky mountains for a flat land Florida boy like me.
The Orbs in the attached photos were discovered when we returned home and had the 35mm film developed.I am a stickler for keeping my lense clean. There was no dust in the air,no breeze, and the moisture level was low.
